Sunpower Yachts acquires solar-electric boatbuilder Alva Yachts

Sunpower Yachts International has acquired Alva Yachts GmbH, bringing together two solar-electric yacht developers.
Sunpower Yachts says the move is part of its strategy to increase its presence in the solar electric yacht market and further develop its range of zero-emission vessels.
The Australian company has been producing solar-powered catamarans and energy-efficient systems since 2018. Alva Yachts, established in Germany, develops solar-electric yacht designs incorporating hydrodynamic hulls and battery storage systems.

“This acquisition marks a pivotal moment in the yachting industry,” says Grant Hudson, director of Sunpower Yachts International. “Alva Yachts has been a key innovator in sustainable yachting with 11 yacht sales to date, and by bringing their expertise under the Sunpower umbrella, we are not only expanding our portfolio but redefining what is possible in the world of clean, luxury maritime travel.
He adds: “Together, we will lead the charge toward a fully sustainable future on the seas.”
Sunpower says the integration of Alva Yachts’ technology into Sunpower’s production will contribute to the development of vessels with greater range, increased power output and luxury features. The product range is expected to include mid-sized catamarans as well as long-range solar-electric and hydrogen-powered megayachts.
Operations are set to continue expanding across Europe, North America, Australia and Asia. Sunpower’s current portfolio includes smart energy management systems, hydro generation capabilities and high-efficiency solar panels.
I’m spitting tacks you need to inform Sunpower yachts that all of us who contracted to build a yacht for millions of pounds were defrauded they took stage payments when nothing was being done we were the worst hit we were building the 90 ft boat and were defrauded out of millions, we were allowed to see the boat up to a point in the build then they stopped letting us see it but still demanded stage payments we paid everything bar the last payment. It was not only losing the money that upset us it was losing the dream.
No Alva yacht was ever finished, you say 11 sales under their belt yes 11 counts of fraud.
