Superyacht company launches new onboard inflatable basketball court

Superyacht inflatable basketball court

Superyacht Tenders and Toys (SYTT) launched an inflatable games deck during the Monaco Grand Prix at the weekend (28 May 2023), which the company says is the first of its kind.

The inaugural court from SYTT’s brand, Superyacht Inflatables, is a custom-made inflatable basketball court, commissioned by keen basketball fan and entrepreneur Jonny Dodge.

Founder and CEO of charter management company My Ocean, Dodge commissioned the basketball court to maximise the guest experience on a 46-metre Pina Marine yacht charter during the Monaco Grand Prix.

Made to order, SYTT says the inflatable games decks can be produced in any shape and size, and as a single unit or divided into separate panels. The inflatable games court can be custom-made for an individual vessel and the client’s sport of choice, in this instance, basketball.

“I approached SYTT because I wanted to offer something unusual for the Grand Prix,” says Dodge. “We like to do things differently at My Ocean, and they certainly delivered. The SYTT team fully understands guest expectations and crew practicalities (the court is quick and easy to inflate and stow). They always go the extra mile, often making the impossible possible.”

The inflatable games court has a production time of only 20 days (plus delivery). The inflatable court surface is produced using a 10cm drop stitch material ensuring a safe but firm surface.
