Technical Marine Supplies launches new marine training facility at Swanwick Marina
Technical Marine Supplies (TMS) has opened a dedicated Training & Technical Development Centre at Swanwick Marina, Southampton.
The new facility will host trade workshops, product-focused training, manufacturer-led sessions, live demonstrations, and industry events designed to help marine professionals develop the knowledge and confidence needed to specify, install, and maintain today’s increasingly complex onboard systems.
Situated at one of the UK’s primary marine hubs, the centre offers a permanent venue for trade workshops, manufacturer-led training, live product demonstrations, and customer events.
TMS plans to work closely with leading manufacturers and industry experts to deliver regular workshops covering:
- Rigging & deck hardware
- Marine electrical systems
- Hydraulics & steering systems
- Monitoring & control technologies
- Sail handling & performance systems
Increasing demand for practical training
As technology continues to advance across sailing yachts, motor yachts, commercial vessels and specialist craft, there is an increasing demand for practical training that bridges the gap between product innovation and real-world installation. The TMS Training Centre has been established to meet this demand, offering hands-on learning delivered by both TMS specialists and leading marine manufacturers.
The first workshops will focus on:
- Modern Yacht Rigging Systems, delivered in partnership with Armare Ropes, featuring technical presentations from Selden and Cyclops Marine.
- Marine Electrical Systems, showcasing solutions from Arco Marine, Egis Mobile Electric and Simarine, with a focus on charging systems, battery management, monitoring, and system integration.
Nick Cook, of Technical Marine Supplies, says: “Training and technical support have always been at the heart of what we do. As marine systems become more advanced, it is increasingly important that installers, riggers, engineers and service professionals have access to practical, hands-on training from the manufacturers and specialists behind the products. Our new facility provides a dedicated environment where customers can develop their knowledge, ask questions, share experiences and stay up to date with the latest technology.”
