VisionAnchor wins startup pitching competition with its S buoy

VisionAnchor

Slovenian nautical startup VisionAnchor triumphed at boot Düsseldorf by winning the nautical pitching competition organised by Yachting Ventures and the European Boating Industry (EBI).

VisionAnchor’s groundbreaking S buoy earned them a free stand at next year’s event, valued at over €3,000.

The pitching competition featured strong contenders from across the nautical industry. Also competing were Zparq AB – Jonas Genchel, BatteryCheck – Michal Sastinsky, Level Hydrofoils – Arthur Yanai and Otter Bike – Gian Zimmermann.

Yachting Ventures runs startup showcases and competitions at several boating events throughout the year.

VisionAnchor: Anchoring Solutions

The VisionAnchor S buoy is designed for boats measuring 8-25 metres and enables vessel owners to anchor using cutting edge GPS technology.

The anchor is for sale through the company’s website and plans are also underway to launch rental services in Slovenia and Croatia in summer 2025.

VisionAnchor team on stage

The startup has garnered significant recognition, receiving awards EIT Digital and the European Space Agency (ESA). Additionally, VisionAnchor was a participant in the Techstars global startup accelerator in Turin, Italy, last year.

Looking ahead, VisionAnchor aims to ramp up production in Slovenia and expand into new markets, including the United States and Australia. To support these goals, the company is actively seeking additional investment.
