WhisperPower opens new UK office

Netherlands-based WhisperPower BV has established its own dedicated national sales and service centre in South Yorkshire to cater for its growing UK customer base. The new office will use experienced staff from a previous distributor.

Previously, the distribution and sales support of its wide portfolio of generators, inverters, battery chargers and hybrid-style power systems were organised through the Webasto network, a partnership that has been very fruitful for both WhisperPower and Webasto UK Ltd.

As a consequence of this, with an increasing order book and a much larger market share, WhisperPower has taken the UK operation in-house setting up the new office in the historic engineering town of Sheffield. Both Webasto UK and WhisperPower have worked closely together to ensure a seamless transition for their customers, who will now have the advantage of dealing directly with the manufacturers. All sales enquiries and any servicing or warranty issues currently being handled by Webasto will be passed to the new UK office.

Speaking for Webasto, commercial manager, David Stafford, says: “We are proud of our role in establishing WhisperPower as a major power generation supplier in both automotive and marine in the UK. We wish WhisperPower UK all the best for the future.”

Opening on the 1st October 2020, the new operation joins WhisperPower’s growing international presence, with new offices recently established in France, Germany and Southern Europe. It will be headed up by technical director, Chris Autey, an electrical engineer with experience in power electronics. Having worked on many specialised WhisperPower installations across several sectors, he is able to advise on the ideal combination of products for both land-based and marine applications.

WhisperPower UK will be overseen by the Netherlands-based headquarters.

Roel J ter Heide, WhisperPower’s founder and CEO, comments: “Over the last 30 years, we have developed from a generator company into an innovative powerhouse offering all sorts of solutions to the marine and mobile markets. WhisperPower is a trendsetter, and since 2010 has focused on the development, production and supply of smart systems to deliver electricity in places where there is no dependable grid power. The new UK office will be able to provide our customers there with a wide range of complementary products, always with the focus on silent, non-polluting and renewable sources of power.”
