Yacht Leg & Cradle Company acquired by scaffolding firm

Ranjit Dale and Paul Williams

Yacht cradle and motorboat stand manufacturer the Yacht Leg & Cradle Company has been acquired by Metal Spraying (UK) after three decades of operation.

“We are delighted to have had the opportunity to acquire the Yacht Leg and Cradle Company that has been managed so successfully by [managing director] Paul Williams for the past 30 years,” says Ranjit Dale, chief executive of SCP Group, which incorporates Metal Spraying.

Wolverhampton-based SCP specialises in scaffolding and construction products, predominantly supplying the construction industry with structural equipment.

“We have been involved with Paul for a long time, supplying the mechanical components for the yacht cradles. We began manufacturing the full range of products for him three years ago and are now proud to now take over the reins,” adds Dale.

The Yacht Leg and Cradle Co will continue to operate as its own entity to both the trade and private customers, with the added benefit of SCP’s engineering, stockholding, warehousing, and distribution facilities. Williams will remain with the company in an advisory role.

The Yacht Leg and Cradle Co says it now hopes to expand the relatively untapped overseas market, leading to further opportunities and job creation, and has new products in development.
