Aquila Power Catamarans has appointed Skandinavisk Katamaran Center as its official dealer for northern Europe.

Skandinavisk Katamaran Center, which is based in Copenhagen, Denmark, will be the exclusive Aquila distributor in Denmark, Germany, Poland, Norway, Sweden and Finland.

The new partnership is part of Aquila’s ongoing expansion in the European market, with the aim of improving access to its power catamaran range across the Nordic region.

“The Nordic region offers unique opportunities for Aquila,” says Nick Harvey, chief revenue officer at Aquila Power Catamarans. “[As the new Aquila Nordic dealer,] Skandinavisk Katamaran Center brings valuable experience with multihulls in Northern European waters. Their understanding of local boating conditions and customer needs makes them an excellent partner to introduce our power catamarans to this important market.”

Bjarne Holst Pahus, owner of Skandinavisk Katamaran Center adds: “We’re excited to add Aquila’s innovative power catamarans to our offerings. Having worked extensively with sailing catamarans, we recognise how Aquila’s stability and spacious layouts will appeal to Nordic boaters who face challenging sea conditions. This partnership allows us to expand our expertise into the growing power catamaran segment.”

Interest in power catamarans is increasing across Northern Europe, with demand driven by a combination of vessel stability and onboard space, particularly in regions where sea conditions can be demanding.

Aquila Power Catamarans are built by China’s Sino Eagle Yachts, which specialises in composite manufacturing. The brand’s facility produces models ranging from 28 feet to 70 feet, with ongoing model development.

In October, Aquila Power Catamarans appointed Alain Raas as its global brand director. Raas will be responsible for strengthening Aquila’s position within the power catamaran sector.

Previously, Raas served as brand manager for Aquila at MarineMax. The firm says his boating experience and strategic insights are expected to contribute to Aquila’s continued global growth, including the launch of new models planned for this year and beyond.
