Cantieri Di Pisa embarks on major expansion

Cantieri di Pisa

Cantieri di Pisa is modernising and expanding its headquarters in Pisa, Italy. The facilities along the Navicelli Canal will soon occupy an area exceeding 50,000 sqm.

The shipyard has invested €6m over the past two years, and says more will follow to expand and renovate the Cantieri di Pisa headquarters. These works are part of a multi-year plan to relaunch the historic brand, promoted by the new ownership, represented by Enrico Gennasio (who took over the shipyard in 2021) and CEO Marco Massabò.

Gennasio and Massabò say they aim to return Cantieri di Pisa to the prestige of its past in collaboration with the Pisa Port Authority.

“We have been working hard for two years, fine-tuning what will be the new iconic lines of Cantieri di Pisa,” says Massabò.

The next step is to expand the range to a fleet of ten steel, aluminium, and carbon fibre models inspired by the shipyard’s historic yachts.

Cantieri di Pisa says the modernisation project includes maintaining the offices in the main warehouse as the historic area, lengthening this structure and raising it to 20 metres tall. Another existing structure will be extended to 20 metres high, and a new shed will be built alongside it. These two buildings will then be connected by a covered structure at 14 metres wide, dedicated to the passage of yachts.

The production facilities and administrative spaces will occupy an area of 17,500 square metres, 900 of which will be dedicated to offices. The facilities will also include a 600-linear-metre equipped dock, a 300-ton travel lift, a 20-ton crane, and a 300-ton boat trailer.

In addition to yacht design and construction, Cantieri di Pisa will also offer a refitting service with an 18,000-square-metre space set aside for this type of work.

Cantieri di Pisa

Cantieri di Pisa was founded in 1945. In 2023, the Tuscany-based builder revealed details of its new Akhir motor yacht series, spanning the 31-metre Akhir 110, the 37-metre Akhir 122 and the 42-metre flagship Akhir 140.
