Emergency Rescue: Air, Land & Sea coming to the small screen, Sunday

A brand new series starring the MCA’s search and rescue helicopters, coastguard rescue teams and operations centres begins on Sunday. And while MIN wouldn’t ordinarily talk about TV shows, the stories we cover about emergency rescues are so well read, we didn’t want you to miss out.

It starts on More4 at 9pm on Sunday.

The 10-part series is said to give a first hand look at the dramatic real life rescues that are carried out across the UK.

Filmed during the summer of 2019 and spring 2020, camera crews were based with coastguard rescue teams, as well as search and rescue helicopters at Newquay, Humberside and Inverness.

Channel 4’s programme description reads: “Every day, across the UK, from Highland mountains to Lakeland fells and the Cornish coast, search and rescue heroes put their lives on the line to keep us safe.”

According to the episode description, the first episode will see fisherman Andy swept into the Atlantic, a fun day out on the water leaving a group of friends and a dog stuck in mud in Cornwall and more.
