Green Yard Kleven partners with YPI

Green Yard Kleven has started a collaboration with the Monaco-based yacht brokerage company, Yachting Partners International (YPI), and is actively entering the yacht market.

“We view the construction of large yachts, so-called superyachts, as a highly topical market for us,” says Hans Jørgen Fedog, CEO of Green Yard Group. “The yacht brokers from YPI are experienced and have a huge network in the industry. A collaboration with them means that we can get in touch with yacht builders all over the world in a completely different way than if we were to do this alone.”

Peter Thompson, global sales partner for YPI, and colleague Russell Crump will work to obtain assignments for Green Yard Kleven. Thompson has been selling superyachts for almost 20 years, and before that was captain of some of the largest yachts in the world. He thinks that shipyards in Northern Europe are the most attractive places to build yachts at the moment and believes this will now put Green Yard Kleven in the spotlight.

Thompson adds: “It is with great pleasure that we have travelled to Green Yard Kleven to get off to a good start with our collaboration. My colleague Russell Crump has been following the Kleven shipyard for several years. He has been impressed by what he has seen.

“The Kleven name is known and respected in the superyacht world for having built the yachts Andromeda in 2016 and Ulysses in 2018. The ships clearly show that the yard has expertise in building yachts from 80 meters and up.”

“From my experience both buying and selling yachts of this size, I am completely convinced that Green Yard Kleven is the right yard to build on,” continues Thompson. “Here there is no doubt that it is the highest quality of ships that are delivered, and also the ability to deliver on time and otherwise be competitive in today’s market plays an important role. The yard’s portfolio other than yachts is also large and gives confidence to potential customers.”

“It is nice that the yacht brokers are so positive about the yard. They want to achieve something in collaboration with us, and together we can achieve something big, I’m sure,” adds Fedog.

An important part of the cooperation agreement is that YPI, in addition to being a broker, will market Green Yard Kleven internationally, as a brand both directly to customers and through a large network of professionals all over the world.

“We work hard all the time to get more work to the yard, and through this collaboration we make an effort to move forward in a tough market,” says Fedog. “In parallel, we are working as before on other new-builds and conversion assignments in various markets, in addition to the recycling activities at the yard. The collaboration with YPI fits in well with our strategy of being a lifelong shipyard, and now we look forward to working with them.”
