Ocean Safety expands portfolio

Ocean Safety has expanded its commercial portfolio of marine safety equipment to offer a wider selection of lifejackets and accessories, including Spinlock’s Duro range. The Duro range of personal floatation devices (PFDs) includes both SOLAS and ISO approved products, designed for different levels of function and buoyancy.

Supporting this range expansion, Ocean Safety’s four branches in Southampton, Plymouth, Aberdeen and Greenock have all been awarded Approved Spinlock Service Station status.

“Our aim is to offer the most comprehensive range of quality commercial marine safety products,” says Ocean Safety’s managing director, Alistair Hackett. “The addition of the Spinlock commercial products to our portfolio not only helps us to achieve our goal, but means we are now a one-stop shop for safety for workers offshore and afloat. The Duro range is almost unique in its ability to work in conjunction with third-party fall arrest systems, which is another added benefit.”

Popular with people working on, or near, water that need to comply with MCA/IMO regulations, the Duro SOLAS 275N lifejacket has a heavy-duty, durable outer cover, with a buckle system to help ensure great comfort and fit.

Ocean Safety is also introducing Spinlock’s Pro-Tech heavy-duty protective cover and essentials packs to its commercial range. Designed to be integrated with the Duro lifejackets, the company says that Pro-Tech is ideal for use in dirty work operations and provides a resistant barrier against contaminants such as paints, oils and chemicals which can quickly damage a lifejacket.

Chris Hill, Spinlock CEO, comments: “As the market leader in the supply of commercial marine safety products, Ocean Safety is the ideal choice for us as a route to market for our Duro lifejacket and accessories range. The range has been designed and manufactured specifically for this industrial maritime sector, and we’re looking forward to working with the team at Ocean Safety to ensure that it is the equipment of choice for seafarers and maritime workers alike.”

Last month, Marine Industry News reported that Ocean Safety has been confirmed as the sponsor of the 2022 edition of Speed@Seawork. Focusing on the commercial high-speed marine sector, Speed@Seawork will take place on Monday 20 June at Cowes Yacht Haven on the Isle of Wight.

Ocean Safety will showcase products from its commercial range, and give live demonstrations of its lifesaving equipment to the attending specialist delegates.

Combining comfort and fit with a lifejacket harness, Spinlock’s Duro+ 275N lifejacket is low profile with chest and back adjustments. This, says Ocean Safety, makes it ideal for the more active commercial offshore operative.
