Ocean Safety expands UK PPE range with Buff Safety partnership

Marine safety specialist Ocean Safety has been appointed the exclusive UK distributor for Buff Safety, expanding the marine safety specialist’s PPE offering for commercial marine and offshore customers.

Ocean Safety will distribute Buff Safety’s range of specialist head and neck protection through its UK sales network. The firm says the addition complements its existing portfolio of safety apparel and personal protective equipment.

The initial range available in the UK includes arc flash-rated and flame-resistant balaclavas and neckwear, cut-resistant products, firefighter balaclavas and Firefighter Particulate CoreX hoods. The range also includes Original EcoStretch and windproof options in high-visibility and core colours.

Buff Safety, part of the Buff brand, develops head and neck protection for professional applications. Its products incorporate materials and technologies including Nomex, Dyneema, Gore Windstopper, HeiQ Smart Temp and 3M Scotchlite reflective detailing, depending on the level of protection required.

Ocean Safety managing director Alistair Hackett says: “Buff Safety is a natural addition to our commercial range. Our customers need PPE that performs properly in demanding environments and is comfortable enough to wear throughout the working day. This gives them access to specialist head and neck protection through the same knowledgeable team they already use for other safety equipment.” 

Luis Smierciak, export sales, Safety Division at Buff says Ocean Safety’s knowledge of the UK commercial marine sector was a factor in the partnership.

The appointment follows Buff Safety’s expansion into professional PPE, building on the company’s origins in multifunctional neckwear more than 30 years ago.

The Buff Safety range is now available through Ocean Safety’s commercial sales team in the UK.
