Silent Yachts has launched the SY62 3-Deck Closed, an enclosed-upper-deck variant of its SY62 catamaran. The new model is targetting hotter climates, such as Asia, where additional protection from the sun is beneficial. The launch follows the recent delivery of the seventh SY62 3-Deck Open.

The Austrian-owned boatbuilder, which operates a shipyard in Italy and specialises in solar-powered cruising catamarans, has set a target of delivering 10 new yachts in 2025. This includes nine SY62 models and the new flagship SY80.

In April 2024, Silent Yachts revealed a new owner and new management after finalising a deal to take it out of administration.

“The incredible work we have put in to build the brand back into serious business health has paid off, and the arrival of the new Closed version of the SY62 3-Deck is a really proud moment for us,” says Silent Yachts CEO Fabrizio Iarrera. “It’s been less than a year since we stepped in, but this new addition – alongside the plans we have to deliver 10 new yachts in 2025, including nine SY62s and our new flagship SY80 – highlights the quality and innovation of our range, which stand as the world’s most advanced solar-powered serious cruising catamarans.”

The SY62 3-Deck Open was first introduced at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2024, where it received the World Yachts Trophies ‘Most Efficient Yacht’ award.

The new closed version retains the same layout and features as the open model but incorporates an enclosed upper deck. This area includes an owner’s studio apartment with panoramic views, a covered aft deck, and sliding glass doors for flexibility in shared or private use.

Like the open model, the SY62 3-Deck Closed operates with a fully electric, solar-powered system, offering silent and emissions-free cruising.

Silent Yachts, founded in 2016 and with roots dating back to 2009, builds fully electric, solar-powered catamarans in Fano, Italy. Its range includes the SY60, SY80, and SY120 Explorer models.
