Stephen Hills new Chair of Superyacht UK

Superyacht UK (SYUK), the group association within British Marine that represents the UK Superyacht sector, has elected Stephen Hills as the new chair of the committee. Hills will combine this role with being commercial director of Pendennis Shipyard Ltd. He succeeds Jeff Houlgrave, who will remain on the SYUK Committee as immediate past-chair.

“I look forward to working with SYUK members and the wider superyacht industry to utilise our collective skills to promote the SYUK brand and its members around the world and ensure that the UK’s superyacht industry continues to thrive,” says Hills.

“I would like to extend my thanks to Jeff Houlgrave for his term of leadership which has put us in a great position to build on the progress made over the last three years.”

Held on 6 May 2021 the Superyacht UK AGM saw the election of a further six new committee members. They represent the superyacht industry across a broad range of expertise and include: James Ward (Marine Resources), Chloe Buchanan (The MTM Agency), Jane Smith (Pantaenius), Ian Hughes (Holman Fenwick Willan LLP), Matteo Magherini (Lateral Naval Architects) and Mike Herrebrugh (Sevenstar).

After a year where meeting in person has been difficult, SYUK is looking forward to returning to events and hosting some of its own. All SYUK events contain a networking element, and SYUK has a presence at Monaco Yacht Show 2021, as well as hosting the SYUK Technical Seminar & Networking event held at Southampton International Boat Show in September.
