Sunreef Yachts has presented its boldest project yet at the 2025 Monaco Yacht Show with its 65-metre Sunreef Explorer, a flagship catamaran that has been billed as the “world’s largest.”

Design details have been taken from the robust nature of an explorer yacht with a high volume – 1,800 GT – for space and the luxury of a superyacht. According to the yard, this twin-hulled superyacht catamaran offers stability and efficiency for long-range cruising.

Inside, the catamaran accommodates seven double guest cabins, plus expansive social and leisure spaces including two pools, a Jacuzzi, a gym, and a vast beach club. Additionally, there are two dining areas and generous lounging zones. For service and operations, the Sunreef catamaran can accommodate 22 crew.

The forward-facing owner’s “palatial suite” – with a king-sized bed, office, walk-in wardrobe, his-and-hers bathrooms – is found on the upper deck with floor-to-ceiling windows and direct access to a foredeck lounge. On the same deck are two VIP cabins, and four further double cabins are located on the main deck.

With an emphasis on social areas, the main deck aft is a custom-built dining table for 14 and twin lounge areas. Further up, the upper deck has a 12-seat dining table, bar and lounge. Crowning the catamaran is the bridge deck with a panoramic, moon-shaped bar in the lounge space.

Meanwhile, the beach club aft as well as easy access to the water, there is space for a 7-metre tender and multiple water toys. Additional features, such as an A-frame crane, can accommodate adventurous toys, including a 45-ft chase boat or submersible.

The Polish yard emphasises the catamaran’s capability for long-range adventures, and performance-wise, the cruising speed sits at 14 knots and tops out at 18 knots. Sunreef founder and CEO, Francis Lapp, comments: ”I can’t imagine a more comfortable platform for a genuinely ambitious cruising programme.

“The 65M Sunreef Explorer is an exquisite yacht designed to provide long-term luxury for a large owner’s party. It offers so much space for easy living and carrying large quantities of supplies and toys. At the same time, it is an incredibly efficient operator. This is a yacht to broaden the horizons of an exceptional owner.”

Earlier this month, at the Cannes Yachting Festival, Lapp highlighted the increased demand for bigger boats. He told MIN, “Catamarans are getting bigger and bigger, and their overall quality is improving.”
