Baglietto unveils 30-knot FAST50 as new yacht line redefines speed and space
Baglietto has launched the first hull in its new FAST50 series, marking a significant evolution of the Italian builder’s high-performance yacht heritage. Designed to deliver 30-knot speeds without sacrificing space and comfort, the 50-metre aluminium yacht blends sporty styling with the liveability more commonly associated with larger displacement vessels.
Hull no. 10268 is a full-aluminium yacht below 500 GT and, unlike the traditional fast yachts that preceded it, the FAST50 is developed across three true decks. It introduces a wide-body configuration for the owner’s suite, significantly increasing interior volumes.
“With the FAST50, we wanted to reinterpret Baglietto’s most authentic DNA – that of the large, high-performance aluminium yachts that shaped the shipyard’s history – translating it into a contemporary platform capable of combining performance, comfort and extraordinary liveability,” says Fabio Ermetto, chief commercial officer at Baglietto.
“This project perfectly represents our vision: sporty yachts with a strong identity, yet architecturally and technically advanced, and deeply tailored around the owner’s lifestyle.”
Owner-led design shapes family-focused interiors
It’s powered by four MTU 2000 M96L engines with a speed of 30 knots, and was designed by Francesco Paszkowski (also responsible for the interiors alongside Margherita Casprini). Naval architecture has been developed by Pierluigi Ausonio.
The stern design incorporates several features previously introduced on the Baglietto’s T-line – it’s across two levels and is enhanced by fold-down bulwarks. The hull features full-height opening windows on three sides of both the main and upper decks, as well as the signature ‘cut-out’ bulwarks.
The relocation of the ventilation ducts outside the hull structure further optimises interior volumes.
Automotive-inspired styling meets 30-knot performance
Baglietto says that there are numerous references to the automotive world onboard: from the integrated air intakes to the stern fairleads inspired by the exhausts of sports cars, all the way to the hull colour – a ‘Porsche Chalk’ shade.
The accommodation layout includes four guest cabins on the lower deck – two VIPs and two twins, all with en-suite bathrooms – while the crew area comprises a crew mess, the captain’s cabin and four crew cabins.
Baglietto says that the galley is particularly generous. It’s amidships on the main deck and reflects the owner’s desire to personally enjoy the environment.
Teak is dominant in the interiors, used both in smooth finishes and crafted slatted applications. The shipyard says that there’s a restrained use of marble and natural stone as strict weight controls are in place – a fundamental condition of achieving required performance. The exterior handrails are made of titanium.
Tender storage and shallow-draft hull expand cruising options
The stern garage is equipped with a flooding launch system and can accommodate a 7-metre tender. There’s also a second garage located forward. Completing the project is a shallow-draft semi-tunnel hull, ensuring excellent performance even in areas characterised by reduced water depth.
The debut FAST50 arrives as owners continue to seek yachts that balance performance, practicality and extended onboard living. By combining high-speed capability with three-deck accommodation, generous owner spaces and shallow-draft versatility, Baglietto is positioning the new platform at the intersection of speed, style and liveability.
